I’ve just applied the new water slide decals to my viper tank (lovely). before I apply varnish, they look like there is a thin skin over the top of the decals - should this be peeled off or left alone? thanks in advance tim Posted : 26/06/2022 1:20 pm Topic Tags Tank water slide advicd Adam Wilson (@09wilsonad) Posts: 15 Member Admin Posted by: @tim-loveridge Hi. The waterslide transfers are protected by a thin layer of varnish. This holds the design together and allows you to slide these about. Sometimes we have some waxed paper covering the whole transfers which should be the same size as the backing card. This is purely to stop them sticking to the plastic bag or getting scratched when shipping your order and this can be thrown away. I've included an image of a waterslide transfer, You can see a clear varnish layer that sits over and around the design of the letter T. This is part of the transfer and should not be peeled away. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know. What’s a little odd on the Velocette transfers is that you can see 2 clear layers after they’ve been applied. I’ll take a photo tonight to show you what I mean.. It looks as though you could peel off the top layer, but I wanted to check! cheers Tim 9ED21902-4154-4E66-93D0-2405D1B28C99.jpeg Posted : 27/06/2022 6:10 pm Tim Loveridge (@tim-loveridge) Posts: 5 Active Member Customer Topic starter And the other photo: 33B02992-BEC8-4C70-950D-B33254C90284.jpeg Posted : 27/06/2022 6:12 pm Adam Wilson (@09wilsonad) Posts: 15 Member Admin Posted by: @tim-loveridge Hi Adam - hopefully the two attached photos explain what I’m talking about. From what I can tell, the second layer you can see is the black outline on our transfer followed by the clear layer over to top. If you would prefer to have a plain gold transfer with no outline or varnish layer, we can supply this as a vinyl transfer?
